I have many clients with unique websites, none of which I was involved in development. I want them to be able to display a calendar of common events, but it will also include unique events for them.

Is it possible that some lines of code on the server side can be inserted into their website (on any particular page), which can display a calendar type display, which can be used Can their users then?

All web calendars that you want to include on a web page (Usually not using SSI using Javascript). Some targets are targeted at specific platforms (i.e., WordPress) and some are more common
